Alice May Hayton Struben Corya, 86, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2012, at her home.
Born May 3, 1926 in West Virginia, Alice was the daughter of Anthony Wayne and Ida Ward Hayton, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Clarence (Con) W. Corya on December 30, 1954, in Seymour. He preceded her in death on September 11, 2005.
Mrs. Corya was a homemaker. She was a member of Quilts of Valor, First Christian Church of North Vernon, East Columbus Christian Church of Columbus, Ruth's circle, and a charter member of Harmony Quilters of North Vernon. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and collecting Barbie dolls.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry (Ted) Struben Campbell of Columbus; six grandchildren, Richard Lee Struben of Germany, Crystal Struben of Indianapolis, Rob Struben, and Kim Struben Gray of Westport, Tara Campbell Linney of Kentucky, and Tarla Campbell of Columbus; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Corya was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Lavonne Struben; son, Wallace Richard (Rick) Struben; daughter-in-law, Charlene (Charlie) Struben; all of her brothers and sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 3, 2012, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Ron Bridgewater will officiate. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 2, 2012, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Otter Creek Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Quilts of Valor, Hospice of South Central Indiana or Otter Creek Cemetery.
