Mrs. Agnes V. Hirtzel

March 28, 1915 - August 30, 2015

Agnes V. Hirtzel, 100, of North Vernon, died at 9:33 p.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2015, at Jennings Healthcare Center in North Vernon.

Born March 28, 1915, in Jennings County, Agnes was the daughter of Charles and Edith (Sheller) Willman. She married Harry Hirtzel, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1963.

Agnes graduated from North Vernon High School. She was a member of St. Mary's Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Crochet of Lafayette; one son, Phillip Hirtzel of Tipton; one sister, Helen Ann Taffe of Florida; and three grandchildren, Travis, Alexander and Nathan Hirtzel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Charles Hirtzel; and brothers, Robert and Charles Willman.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in North Vernon. Rev. Jerry Byrd will officiate. A rosary service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service, and visitation will follow from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.
