Richard Edwin Wilhoit, 64, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:34 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019, at St. Vincent Jennings Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 27, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. Marty Dennis will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 27, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home.
Born November 8, 1955, in Seymour, Richard was the son of Edwin and Elizabeth (Singleton) Wilhoit. He was united in marriage to Tammy Miles on May 3, 1980. She survives.
Richard graduated from South Ripley High School in 1974. He worked in Manufacturing at Faurecia. Richard enjoyed watching sports, especially IU, Chicago Cubs, Colts, and racing. He was a very hard-working man and was known to be very witty.
In addition to his wife, Tammy Wilhoit of North Vernon, survivors include sons, Rodney (Toni) Wilhoit of Madison, and John (Sarah) Wilhoit of Lexington, Kentucky; daughter, Jamie Wilhoit of Lexington, Kentucky; brothers, Randy Wilhoit of Florence, Kentucky, and Rod Wilhoit of Versailles; sister, Gayle Leahigh of Versailles; grandchildren, Kylie, Mason, Colin and Noah Wilhoit.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Elizabeth Wilhoit.
