Patricia Ann (Ellis) Boswell

Patricia Ann Ellis Boswell, 89, of Butlerville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

A funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Otter Creek Baptist Church. Rev. Marvin Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service and from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church.

Born May 10, 1930, in Florida Station, she was the daughter of Robert and Martha Beeman Ellis. She married William “Bill” Boswell on December 4, 1948. He preceded her in death on December 6, 2001.

She graduated from Butlerville High School and joined Otter Creek Baptist Church in 1948 where she was a faithful member until her passing. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. She and her husband loved traveling. They had visited forty – four states, and several countries. In 1987 she and Bill began spending winters in Sebring, FL. After his passing, she continued with her sister Janice. She was a member of Sebring Recreational Club, Four Corners Home Economics Club, and the Butlerville Lunch Bunch.

She enjoyed watching Indiana University Basketball, reading Amish novels, bingo, games, dominos, playing cards, cooking, and sewing. She made hundreds of baby blankets for family and friends. 4-H Fair week was a special time for her. She participated in flowers, canning, and sewing competitions. She always enjoyed watching her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren show their livestock. She attended as many sporting events that her family participated in as she could.

Patty is survived by sons, Steve (Stacie), and Ronnie (Amy) Boswell of North Vernon, and Mike (Barb) Boswell of Butlerville; one daughter, Carol (Jim) Gourley of Fort Mill; son-in-law, Mike Kipper of Fishers;  sisters, Janice (Sonny) Patterson of North Vernon, Deloris (Paul) Fox of Butlerville; one brother, Tim (Brenda) Ellis of Avon Park, FL; grandchildren, Stevie, Jason, Shane, Roy, Luke, and David Boswell, Judson and Adam Gourley, Missy Taylor, Vanessa Callies , Brooke Creech, Kelsey Beiswanger, and Allison Nordling; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Lisa Kipper; brother, Bob Ellis; sisters, Joyce Clark and Diana Grigsby.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Otter Creek Baptist Church, or Otter Creek Cemetery Fund.
