Michael “Dirk” Byram, 65, of North Vernon, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 21, 2019, in Byrdstown, TN.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Services. Rev. Kody Swanson will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home.
Born on July 27, 1954, in Martinsville, Dirk was the son of Bobby Lee and Dora "Deanie" (Glaze) Byram. His father precedes him in death.
Dirk worked in construction as a pipe fitter for many years. He belonged to the Local 440 Plumber and Pipe Fitters Union. Dirk loved racing, golfing, and fishing. He really enjoyed any and all sports especially the Colts, Dirk was avid Colts fan.
In addition to his mother, Deanie Byram of North Vernon, survivors include brother, Hank (Michele) Byram of North Vernon; sisters, Becky (Braden) Worrell of North Vernon, Leslie (Jerry) Lowman of Scipio, and Shirley Denise Deckard of Indianapolis; cousins, Darlene and Paul Hicks of North Vernon; aunt, Shirley Byram Grayson of Englewood, FL; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews.
Dirk was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Lee Byram.
Memorials can be made through the funeral home to Mercy Rescue or Aunt Shirley Elementary Art Fund through the Jennings County Community Foundation.
