Mary E. Kreutzjans

Mary E. Kreutzjans, 85, of North Vernon passed away Friday, April 21, 2017 at her residence.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. A Rosary service will be conducted at 3:30 PM Tuesday at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Born January 29, 1932, in Tampa, FL, Mary was the daughter of Mary E. and Elmo P. Thompson Andreu. She married George Kreutzjans on February 14, 1953 in Tampa.

She graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1950. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. She retired from National City Bank where she worked in accounting. Mary was a former 4-H leader, member of the Jennings County Extension Homemakers Club, and a literary tutor at the Jennings County Library.

Mary is survived by her husband, George Kreutzjans of North Vernon; sons, Gerald P. (Bridgid) Kreutzjans of West Palm Beach, FL, David J. (Vivian) Kreutzjans of Jacksonville, FL, Jeff J. Kreutzjans of North Vernon, and John A. (Dianna) Kreutzjans of Freetown; daughters, Theresa M. (Martin) Dexter of Logansport, Diana M. (Jim) Abel of North Vernon, Alicia M. (Kevin) Greene of North Vernon, and Victoria M. (Scott) Smith of Butlerville; thirteen grandchildren; twenty – two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Elmo J. Andreu.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Anne’s Catholic Church or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
