Mary M. Boyd

Mary M. Boyd, 74, of North Vernon, passed away unexpectedly at 7:27 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at St. Vincent-Jennings Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday December 8, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service. Rev. Dale Boyd will officiate. Burial will be in Otter Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2019 and from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Sunday.

Born January 10, 1945, in Anderson, Mary was the daughter of Herman and Opal (Carson) Beeman. She was united in marriage to Terry Boyd on December 8, 1978. He preceded her in death on April 14, 2001.

Mary had worked as a greeter at Walmart, but for the last 10 years she worked for the Jennings County School system as a bus monitor. She was a former member of the Christian Motorcycle Association and American Legion. Mary was a member of The Worship Center of Butlerville. She loved dancing, and especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by sons, Roger (Betty) Owens of North Vernon, David (Mona) Owens of Seymour, Bryan (Patty) Owens of North Vernon, and Ayden Boyd of North Vernon; daughter, Teresa (James) Brandt of North Vernon; brother, Sam Beeman of North Vernon; 19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Opal Beeman; husband, Terry Boyd; brothers, Carl, Herman, Paul, Billy, and Franklin Beeman; sister, Joan Murr; two great grandchildren.
