Marvelle H. (Hughey) Elmore

Marvelle H. Elmore, 81, of North Vernon, passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Autumn Trace Assisted Living.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Services, visitation starting at 9:00. Michelle Lambert and Billy Elmore will officiate. Burial will be in the Tea Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019 at the funeral home.

Born January 9, 1938, in Lovett Township, Marvelle was the daughter of William and Ruth (Vance) Hughey. She married Donald Elmore on June 10, 1955. He survives.

Marvelle graduated North Vernon High School in 1955. She went on to work at Arvin Automotive as an executive assistant. Marvelle liked watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in their sporting events. She enjoyed cooking, yard sales, shopping, and spending time with class mates.

In addition to her husband, Donald Elmore, survivors include sons, Steve (Rita) Elmore of Scipio and Chris (Laura) Elmore of Nineveh; grandchildren, Cole Elmore, Ashley Ferguson, Tiffany Clark, Brooke Elmore, Jonathon Rupert, Lyn Burdine, Jared Elmore, and Michelle Lambert; 18 great grandchildren.

Marvelle was preceded in death by her parents, William and Ruth Hughey.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Tea Creek Baptist Church or the Tea Creek Cemetery.
