Albert Jack Waltz, 76, of North Vernon, passed at 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 01, 2018, at his residence.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Rev. Ron Bridgewater will officiate. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018, at the funeral home.
Born on July 5, 1942, in Madison, Jack was the son of Albert and Gwendolyn (Schoffner) Waltz. He married Rita Turner on July 5, 1963. She survives.
He graduated from Vevay High School in 1960 and retired from Cummins, Inc. after 30+ years. Jack was a member of Mt. Sterling Christian Church and a charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in North Vernon. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, sitting under his shade trees talking with his friends, but most of all he enjoyed his grandchildren and watching them play sports.
Jack is survived by his wife, Rita; sons, Larry and Lonny; daughter-in-law, Nancy, whom he thought of as a daughter; grandchildren, Tanner, Baley, Jace and Jaklyn, who were the light of his life; brothers-in-law, Larry (Jenny) Turner, Frank (Peggy) Turner; sisters-in-law, Vandora Stuard and Judy Weston; and best friends, Jim and Tootie Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Harry, Warren, Donnie, Lionel, Stanley and Paul Turner, Paul Koons, Lee Stuard and EJ Weston; sisters-in-law, Marian, Gaye, Alberta, Margaret and Wilma Turner.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Christian Church-North Vernon or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
