Darlene Ruth (Mick) Williams

Darlene Ruth Williams, 62, of North Vernon passed away on June 7, 2019 at Bellevue Hospital in New York City.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Rev. Don Buchanan will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday June 19, 2019 at Sawyer – Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. Visitation will follow from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born March 1, 1957, in Seymour, she was the daughter of James and Anna Margaret Fair Mick. She married Rick Williams on July 14, 1978.

Darlene was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She worked as Vice President of towels and rugs for JLA Home. She had previously been employed by First National Bank, Regal Rugs, and Sunham Home Fashion.

She was an Indiana University Basketball and Indianapolis Colts football fan. She enjoyed playing cards, camping, shopping with her granddaughters, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

She is survived by her husband, Rick Williams of North Vernon; father, James Mick of North Vernon; step-mother, Lynn Mick of North Vernon; step-mother in law, Judith Williams of DeBary, FL; daughters, Amy (Shelby) Hicks and Nicole (Eli) Brown of North Vernon; son, Adam (Emmy) Williams of Moores Hill; step-children, Jenni Sells of North Carolina, and John Williams of Georgia; sisters, Rayann Thompson, Nancy (Rob) Apsley, and Carolyn (Ron) Hensley of North Vernon, and Sandra (Scott) Clark of Madison; brother in law, Mike (Barb) Williams of TN; sister in law, Jovita Williams of Greenwood; grandchildren, Brittany Thill, Karter & Konner Brown, and Jarikah Williams of North Vernon, Mason Dauer of Moores Hill, Theresa (Johann) Williams of Germany, Carson Williams of Columbus, and Jaysen Williams of Seymour; step-grandchildren, Maebri & Elliet Fulkerson, Kami (Mark) Fulkerson and Nathan Hicks of Dunkirk; nieces & nephews, Emily and Joe Thompson of North Vernon, Zach Thompson of CO, Caitlin (Cheaney) Roll of Brownstown, Joel Hensley of North Vernon, Allie (Clark) Tyler, and Carly Hensley of Columbus, James Caum & Maggie Caum of North Vernon, Abbie Clark of Brownstown, Jacob Clark of North Vernon, John Williams of TN, Josh Williams of Japan, Joanna Chris)  Delaney of MD, Jackie (William) Sanderlin of VA, Ben Williams of CA, Rachel (John) Doty of LaPorte, and Nate Williams of Indianapolis.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Anna Margaret Mick; father in law, John Williams; mother in law, Norma Corbett; and brother in law, Eric Thompson.
