Albert Sparkman, 89, of Dupont, passed away at 10:04 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at King’s Daughter’s Hospital in Madison Indiana.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Services. Jay Ingram will officiate. Burial will be in Dupont Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. till the time of the service on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home.
Born May 27, 1930, in Defeated Creek, Kentucky. Albert was the son of Kelly and Alberta (Frazier) Sparkman, whom of both which precede him in death.
Albert moved to Dupont, IN in 1950 from his Kentucky home. Shortly after his move he served in the Army from 1951 to 1953. He retired from Cummins and farmed for several years on the homeplace. He was a former member of the VFW and Moose Lodge in North Vernon. Albert enjoyed and loved his nieces and nephews, bluegrass music, and fishing.
Survivors include a sister, Garnett Lucas of Seymour; nieces; nephews; cousins; and friends.
Albert was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Paul Sparkman, Jack Sparkman, Everett Sparkman, and Ronnie Sparkman; sisters, Reecie Lucas, Lonnie Frazier, Clara Medlin, Faye Scifres, and Cleta Ragan.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Graham Presbyterian Church or the Lovett Township Fire Department.
