Donna Sue Perkinson, 71, of Vernon, passed away at 9:31 a.m. on Saturday, March 16, 2024, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation was chosen. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service are entrusted with the arrangements.
Born on September 6, 1952, in Columbus, Donna was the loving daughter of John Andrew and Etta Mae (Branum) Watkins. She was united in marriage to Ronald E. Perkinson on October 21, 1994. He survives.
Donna studied under Soloman Wickey to learn about herbs and energy healing. She owned and operated Herbal Solutions in Vernon. Donna was a good cook and enjoyed playing music and singing with her husband, Ron.
In addition to her husband, Ronald “Red Ear” Perkinson of Vernon, survivors include son, Brian J. (Dana Delameter) Symons of North Vernon; brothers, Everett Watkins of Columbus, Freddie Watkins of Ohio, and Edward Watkins of Florida; sisters, Cathy Andry of Columbus, Glenna Lilly of North Vernon, Peggy Stewart of Madison; grandchildren, Lane Alexander Lauderbaugh, Luke Thomas Lauderbaugh, and Landon Symons.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Etta Watkins; daughter, Jennifer Sue Symons; brothers, David Watkins, and John Watkins; sister, Shirley Jean Campfield.
Memorial donations can be made through the funeral home to the Jennings County Historical Society.
