Rita Luedeman, 79, of Hayden passed away at 4:30 PM Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Jennings Healthcare Center.

Born January 1, 1934 in Hayden, Rita was the daughter of Laurence and Margaret Lafferty Burgmeier.

She worked thirty-five years at C.E.W. in North Vernon before retiring. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

Mrs. Luedeman is survived by sons, Lawrence and Tony Luedeman of Hayden, Steve Luedeman of Commiskey, Jerry and Tom Luedeman of North Vernon, and John Luedeman of Brownstown; sisters, Ellen Burgmeier, Helena Miles and Peggy Scroggins of North Vernon, Teresa Wilson, and Ann Williams, of Hayden; brothers, Jay Burgmeier of Hayden and Joe Burgmeier of North Vernon; twelve grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a grandson, Joe Luedeman, and one great-grandchild, Tori Root.

Funeral Information

A Funeral Mass will be conducted Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at Four Corners. Rev. Jonathan Meyer will officiate. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service. A Rosary Service will be conducted at 3:00 PM at the funeral Home.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to St. Joseph's Catholic Church or Our Hospice of Jennings County.
