Regina Maschino, 47, of North Vernon (Four Corners area), died peacefully in her home on Saturday, October 24, 2009 after a long illness.

Born March 15, 1962 in Seymour. She settled in the Hayden area and graduated from Jennings County High School in 1980. She married Larry Maschino on April 24, 1981 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She was a member and former Sunday School teacher at St. Joseph's and a volunteer at Schneck Medical Center. She worked at Cummins Inc. for 11 years. She enjoyed working in her flower gardens, drawing, reading, swinging on her porch swing, taking walks, and spending lots of time with her grandchildren. She also sponsored a little boy through the Christian Foundation for Children and Aging. She was a very hard worker and was always putting everyone's needs ahead of her own. She was a great wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt!

Regina is survived by her parents, Jack and Ann Williams of Hayden; husband, Larry Maschino of North Vernon; three children, Andrea (Josh) Leak, and Marisa (Josh) Lakins, of North Vernon, and Bryce Maschino of Florida; sisters, Lisa (Bob) Reese of Franklin, Dana (Chris) Burg of Bloomington, Jenny (Brian) Wheatley of Commiskey, Jan (Tim) Peacock of Commiskey, and Jamie (Ryan) Calhoun of North Vernon; brothers, Jack Williams of North Vernon, and Jay Williams of Hayden; grandchildren, Carter, Taylor, and Dawson Leak, and Gwyn Lakins; and many aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father, William DeHart; grandparents, Laurence and Margaret Burgmeier, Ray and Ruth Reed, and Francis and Bernice DeHart.

Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2009 with the Rev. Jonathan Meyer officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at Sawyer - Pickett Funeral Home. A Rosary Service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in St. Joseph's cemetery.

Donations Information

Memorial donations may be made to Riley Children's Hospital or St. Joseph's Cemetery endowment through the funeral home.
