Nancy Lee Heston

Nancy Lee Heston, 69, of North Vernon, passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at her residence.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service.  Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Born February 12, 1949, in Madison, IN, Nancy was the daughter of the late Cecil Howard and Jessie Lee Meeks Humphrey.  She married Harry W. Ballard, Sr. on May 12, 1969.  He preceded her in death on August 30, 2000.  She later married Richard Gene Heston who also preceded her in death in August of 2008.

She was a member of the Eagles and AmVets.  She enjoyed her dogs, her family and going to casinos.

Nancy is survived by a son, Vincent (Marilynn) Estes of Deputy; two daughters, Lee-Ann (Tom) Shouse and Linda (William) Montgomery all of North Vernon; four brothers, Steve and Mike Humphrey of Madison, Ronnie Humphrey of Carrollton, KY, and Tony Humphrey of LaGrange, KY; a sister, Ruth Sarver of Crestwood, KY;  seven grandchildren, Matthew Estes, Erika Coriaty, Haylee Ballard, William, Andrew and Jeffrey Montgomery and Jessica Shouse; three great-grandchildren, and a companion, Carl Boswell.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Jessie Humphrey; her first husband, Harry W. Ballard, Sr. and her second husband, Richard Gene Heston;  a son, Harry Ballard, Jr.; and two brothers, Gary Humphrey and Cecil Howard Humphrey, Jr.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the family for expenses.
