Bettie L. Russell

Bettie L. Russell, 73, of North Vernon, passed away at 3:25 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Bishop Doyle Meyers will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the church.

Born January 31, 1943, in Richmond, CA, Bettie was the daughter of the late Sydney and Elizabeth (Ford) Russell.

Bettie retired from Civil Service where she worked in computer data entry. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She had dedicated the last 20 years to genealogy and family history. She was a very patriotic person who loved her country and held the United States Constitution sacred. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a very generous person.

Survivors include four daughters, Tina Russell, Anna Maria Russell, and Mia (Joseph Vernon, III)Daviner, all of North Vernon, and Le’ a (Adam) Eaton of Salt Lake City, UT; a son Jimmie (Melissa) Russell, II, of Salt Lake City, UT; two brothers, Phillip (Hilda) Russell of San Diego, CA and Raymond (Sandra) Russell, of Seattle, WA; twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Bettie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Russell.

Memorials may be made to Schneck Hospice or to the family to help with expenses.
